Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 10, 2026
Last Updated: August 28, 2026
Introduction
Quiga ("we", "us", or "our") is operated by Circus Company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our services. We operate a game website, separate discovery-content sites, and a mobile app; what we collect and how advertising works differ between them. Each section below states which area it applies to.
Scope of This Policy
This policy covers all Quiga services operated by Circus Company. (1) The game website quiga.io, which offers games and quizzes and carries no advertising. (2) Our discovery-content sites — the blog (blog.quiga.io), the personality-test site (mbti.quiga.io), and the conversation-card site (talk.quiga.io) — which publish articles and tests and may carry advertising. (3) The QuigaPlay mobile app, which collects our games in one place and may carry advertising. All three follow this single policy, but because what they collect and how they treat advertising differ, each section below identifies the area it describes.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and account type (individual, family, or educator).
Usage Data
We collect game play data including scores, session duration, thinking skill performance metrics, and device information to provide our services.
Children's Data
For child player profiles created under a family account, we collect only the display name, age range, and game performance data. We do not collect personal contact information from children.
Mobile App Data
The QuigaPlay mobile app sends a randomly generated installation identifier to our servers to fetch the game catalogue and verify the installation. This identifier is not linked to your name, email address, or phone number. The birth year you enter for age verification, along with your game progress and preferences, is stored only on your device and is not sent to our servers. Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device. The app requests no location, contacts, photo, or microphone permissions, and all communication is encrypted over HTTPS.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the game platform
- To track and display game performance analytics
- To personalize game recommendations
- To enable parental controls and family features
- To communicate service updates
Advertising
Game screens and discovery content on quiga.io may carry Google AdSense advertising. Ads appear in a separate area below the game screen and never interrupt play: we place no ads over a game screen and no video ads before or during a game. Data generated while playing our games is never used for ad targeting.
Where advertising is served — the ad area below the game screen on quiga.io, our discovery-content sites (the blog, the personality-test site, and the conversation-card site), and the mobile app — third-party advertising providers including Google use cookies or your device advertising identifier to serve ads and measure their performance. Google, as a third-party vendor, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. In doing so, advertising providers may process an approximate location derived from your IP address along with your interactions with the ads.
We do not serve personalized advertising to children. Child profiles under a family account, and users determined through age verification to be under 18, are shown non-personalized ads only. Data collected from children is never used for ad targeting or to build advertising profiles, and is never shared with advertising providers.
You can turn off personalized advertising at any time. On the web, you can opt out of Google personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings (google.com/settings/ads), and opt out of participating vendors collectively at www.aboutads.info. In the mobile app, you can use your device settings to reset your advertising identifier or opt out of personalized ads. Opting out does not remove advertising; ads will simply be less relevant to your interests.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Quiga complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We require verifiable parental consent before a child player profile is created. Parents can review, correct, or delete their child’s data at any time from account settings. Children’s data is never sold, never used for personalized advertising, and never shared with third parties for advertising purposes. We do not serve personalized ads on screens used by children.
Your Rights (GDPR)
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Restrict or object to data processing
To exercise these rights, visit Account Settings > Privacy & Data, or contact us at [email protected].
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers required to operate the service (hosting, payment processing, and analytics) under strict data-protection agreements. In areas that carry advertising, advertising providers process cookies, advertising identifiers, and approximate location to the extent needed to serve ads and measure their performance; see the Advertising section above for details. The games on quiga.io and any data collected from children are excluded from that advertising processing.
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security audits to protect your data.
Data Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days. Child data is removed within 48 hours per COPPA requirements.
Cookies
On quiga.io we use essential cookies for sign-in and session handling, plus analytics cookies where you have consented, to improve the service. Where advertising is served — the ad area below the game screen, the discovery-content sites, and the mobile app — the third-party advertising cookies (including Google advertising cookies) and advertising identifiers described in the Advertising section above are used. You can opt out of Google personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings (google.com/settings/ads) and of participating vendors collectively at www.aboutads.info. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in and other features from working.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
